The Project


“Byala Beach Sports EU Festival” is a not-for-profit European sport event, as part of Erasmus+ Sport and Grant Agreement – 101183736, acronym: EUFestByala, co-funded by the European Union.

The Municipality of Byala is the beneficiary of the Grant Agreement. Together with 11 partners from 10 EU countries, the Fest involves 7-days event with various beach sports: tournament for Beach Volley for amateurs from 10 countries, events for beach tennis, beach football, beach wrestling, fun traditional games from the Partnering countries; events dedicated to involve wide audience from all ages to take part in training sessions and to form teams, which will take part in informal tournaments; various workshops for exchanging knowledge on healthy life-style.

The EUFestByala main objective is to encourage healthy lifestyles for wider audience by attracting the population in participating in variety of beach sports and physical activities.

In addition to the main objective the Fest will seek to achieve 6 specific objectives:

  • SO 1 To promote the recognition of a healthy lifestyle through sports and balanced/healthy nutrition
  • SO 2 To promote the sport and physical activity as a tool for health
  • SO 3 To promote activities encouraging the practice of sport and physical activity
  • SO 4 To encourage volunteering in sport
  • SO 5 To encourage social inclusion through sport by involving disadvantage groups
  • SO 6 To promote traditional sports and game

The project aims to involve various target groups, such as amateur clubs, local communities population, guests, tourists, vulnerable groups (emigrants, minorities, disabled people), Sports federations and clubs, SMEs operating in the field of sport and physical activities, NGOs and Associations in the field of sport, local authorities, referees, the Municipality of Byala staff, the Partners’ teams, volunteers, public institutions.

The expected main results of the project implementation are:

  • R1 Conducted European-wide sport event.
  • R2 Reached wide audience for participation in sport and physical activity for healthy lifestyle.
  • R3 Raised awareness among the audience for the benefits of having regular physical activities and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  • R4 Extended network of organisations active in encouraging the participation in sport and physical activity for healthy lifestyle.
  • R5 Promoted volunteering in sport.
  • R6 Social inclusion of vulnerable groups through sport.
